Thank you for your interest in pursuing an internship in one of my Congressional offices. Representing the people of Nebraska’s Second Congressional district in the House of Representatives is an honor. Working for Congress is a rewarding experience and interning provides an opportunity to learn more about our government and the operations of the institution. We are looking for dedicated, hardworking, and passionate interns to assist us in serving constituents in both our Washington, D.C. and Omaha offices. Internships are available throughout the year and are open to all students and recent graduates; however, priority is given to Nebraskans as well as students attending a Nebraska University/College. We will work with schools that award academic credit for service in both offices. Paid internships in the D.C. office are available.
Available Internship Sessions:
Spring: January – April
Summer: May – August
Fall: September – December
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Please fill out the internship application form below and attach your cover letter, resume, and transcript. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable.
Washington, D.C.
In the Washington, D.C. office, interns will assist with constituent services, communications, administrative tasks, and legislative research. Interns will have the opportunity to gain further understanding of the legislative process by attending congressional hearings and policy briefings.
District Office (Omaha)
In the District office, interns will have the opportunity to contribute to the office’s outreach with residents of Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District through constituent services, administrative tasks, writing letters, and assisting with media clips. Interns may also assist with constituent casework, which includes interacting with federal agencies, and district-focused events.
