'I feel like I have no where to go': Woman with Metro ties struggles to get out of Afghanistan

For the last few weeks, Felix Ungerman’s days have been filled with international phone calls, notes scribbled on his hands and efforts to keep his emotions in check. Ungerman is the deputy chief of staff for Congressman Don Bacon. He’s also a veteran of the Afghanistan War. Now, he’s on a mission of his own to get Afghans with American ties to safety. "We know time is very short. We may only have 24 hours left before we have to start getting our folks out,” Ungerman told KETV. On Friday morning, Ungerman successfully pulled six people out of Taliban territory. He was running on two hours of sleep. Read the full story here. |
