Nebraska's congressional delegation tackled a host of questions during a legislative summit at the Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum Thursday. [...]On funding for the University of Nebraska Medical Center's $ billion Project NExT, Congressman Jeff Fortenberry, who sits on the House of Representatives Appropriations Committee, said they are on track but at a "delicate" moment. "If we are able to get through this appropriations process successfully, there should be more money coming our way which then creates that tipping point where we can accelerate this process," Fortenberry said. And on Offutt Air Force Base funding — Bacon said the buildings damaged in the 2019 flood are a priority as the run way is being repaired. He said they are working on getting funding for a new forensic lab for the Defense Pow/Mia Agency. And the base is adding a new program for national electronic warfare. Read the full story here. |
