Nearly 100 people attended an evening Memorial Day service at Papillion’s Veterans Park, presented by American Legion Post 32.

The ceremony featured the dedication of a new obelisk memorial, honoring five special military heroes from Papillion. After a delay in production and transport, the obelisk arrived in mid-May in time for installation before the service.

“No one celebrates Memorial Days and Veterans Days, honors these days, like this local area,” said Rep. Don Bacon (R-Neb. 2), former Wing Commander at Offutt Air Force Base.
