Congressman Don Bacon (NE-02) released the following statement after the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Fiscal Year 2019 Department of Defense Appropriations Act: “With yesterday’s passage of the 2019 Defense Appropriations Act prior to the end of the fiscal year, the Department of Defense will begin the fiscal year with a funded annual budget for the first time in more than a decade. This is a major victory for the men and women who dedicate their lives to our national defense, and sends a strong message of bi-partisan support from Congress to the Armed Forces on behalf of the American people.” “The failed policies of the previous administration took a heavy toll on our military and as a result, emboldened America’s enemies. For the second consecutive year, Congress has provided the funding necessary to restore readiness and ensure our forces are prepared and equipped to compete, deter and, if necessary, win any future conflict. I am thankful to have been a part of this process and am pleased with the results for America, Nebraska, and our congressional district.” ### |
