Rep. Bacon Joins President and Other House Members for Signing of 2019 NDAA

FORT DRUM, NY- Congressman Don Bacon (NE-02) today joined four of his House colleagues at Fort Drum in upstate New York to participate in the Presidential signing into law the John S. McCain National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2019 (FY19 NDAA).

The FY19 NDAA includes legislation introduced by Rep. Bacon to ensure Gold Star families have access to military installations; to enhance electronic warfare capabilities; to limit use of Russian fuel in military installations in Europe; to mandate improvements to the military transition assistance program (TAP); to support the defense of Taiwan; and requires federal agencies to provide prospective contractors with information about the agency’s policy to comply with the Federal Acquisition Register and information related to performance in dealing with requests for equitable adjustments. It also includes more than $600 million to modernize aircraft based at Offutt AFB and authorizes funding to replace the WC-135 and OC-135 observation aircraft; and Authorizes a 2.6% pay increase, the highest increase in nine years and extends special pay and bonuses for those in high demand.
