(OMAHA, NE) Yesterday, Congressman Don Bacon (NE-02) joined House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) in a bipartisan delegation traveling to key European ally nations, with the goal of strengthening economic and security ties with our NATO partners. The delegation will travel to the United Kingdom, Norway, Poland, and Estonia to meet with government officials and military leaders where they will review and discuss evolving security threats facing Europe as well as opportunities for greater economic cooperation. “About a month ago, Speaker Ryan asked me to join the delegation because he said my military background and experience with NATO would be beneficial on the trip. I was the Deputy Commander for Third Air Force which oversaw all of the Air Force’s operations in Europe including all of our bases,” said Congressman Bacon. Other members joining the speaker are House Armed Services Committee Chairman Mac Thornberry (R-TX), House Financial Services Committee Chairman Jeb Hensarling (R-TX), Rep. Ron Kind (D-WI), Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-NY), Rep. Martha Roby (R-AL) and Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL). ### |
